1969-70 at WHL with a Spurs supporting mate, both 12 years old. A 2-0 win for the mighty Hammers. Hurst and Peters scored, Moore was imperious, Greaves missed a penalty and a young Trevor Brooking was looking good in midfield. Happy days!

Re: Your first game?
My first game was
West Ham United Colts v Briggs Minors
FA Youth Cup 2nd Round
Boleyn Ground
7pm Tuesday 6th November 1956

Team

1.B Goymer
2. J Kirkup
3.A.Howe
4.C Lewis
5.R.Moore
6. J. Lyall
7. C. Rowlands
8. J Smith
9 Fenn
10. J.Cartwright
11.McDonald

The result we won 13-1

You might recognise a name or two!

Can't remember my second game for certain, but the following year I was definitely at the home game against Orient, I think was probably the first game I was allowed to go on my own as I had reached the age of 10. Full house at the "Old" Boleyn went in the South Bank but it was rammed ended up in the North Bank to get a view. You could do that back then. Official attendance of nearly 26,000 probably at least 10,000 more than that. We won 3 - 2 Scorers Bill Lansdowne John Smith and Eddie Lewis. (Not that I remembered ) had to look that up and to be fair I probably didn't see much on the day but remember the atmosphere.

Still onwards and upwards roll on Monday Night!

Re: Your first game?
Notts County at home 1991 in the second division. Lost 2-0. I remember Mark Draper pulling the strings for them, and what seemed like a 22 man brawl - though probably less

I have a good memory of that game, was just when I started going. Remember getting in the ground at 1.30 stood right at the bottom of the South bank. Sunny day iirc. Great times.

Re: Your first game?
Mentioned earlier the debut game in 1959 aged 2 of which I remember nothing. First game I can remember was Burnley in about 1964.

Main recollection was the atmosphere which was fairly heated and being able to see in the Boys' cage in the North West corner. Was glad I wasn't in there. Most of the boys looked like the Artful Dodger or worse.

Every other home game mentioned on this thread from 1975 onwards I was there too. Just missed 4 home games since 1975. (I'm not counting the Covid games or the Castilla ECWC game.)

Re: Your first game?
Mine was also vs Derby in 1996. Drew 1-1.

I got Mark Noble’s shirt from your first game. I think it was his first ever league start at Upton Park.

Re: Your first game?
17th November 1990, at home to Brighton. I was 17 at the time.
West Ham 2-1 Brighton

Brighton went 1-0 in front in the 1st half, then Stuart Slater came on in the 2nd half and changed the game, scoring the equaliser. Colin Foster headed in the winner.
Then we got promoted at the ned of the season and had a decent FA cup run.

27th August 1983 - first game of the season
West Ham 4 - 0 Birmingham City
Goals from Cottee (2), Swindlehurst, and Alvin Martin.

Went with my Mum and Dad. A month and a half shy of my eleventh birthday. Wore my Adidas replica top (the blue sleeves well boaty one, not the one they wore on the day which was blue hoop and white castle-less badge). In 2015 my boy attended his first game (2-1 v Chelsea) and he wore the very same shirt.

Had to be in the early 60's with my father. Can remember the Salvation Army band playing and Bill Remfrey playing The Ronettes Be my Baby. But can't remember who we were playing. Have some 60's programmes somewhere up in my loft. Went to the Cup Winners Cup Final in 65.

Norwhich 2 West Ham 2. Lateish 70's I think. We lived near Norwich at the time so dad too me to Carrow Road. Please now that I got to see Martin Peters play albeit in the yellow of Norwich. Couldn't honestly tell you what my first Upton Park game was, can't remember for the life of me.

1995 George Parris Testimonial v Ipswich, lost 3-2. I was 4 years old.

First away game was 1999, Liverpool away, we lost 1-0 Titi Camara scored.

Took my daughter to her first game against Atalanta the other day, she is 3 years old, didn’t make the kick off and had to leave before the game to go to toy shops. We’ll try again another time haha

I think it was a draw the game I went to, I was 4. We then lost in the second replay I think. My first away game was Orient in the cup in 1987.

Re: Your first game?
21/1/1989 v Manchester United L 1-3

My dad bought us tickets on the morning of the game (could never do that now) in the West upper.

Brady scored a penalty for us. Was mesmerised by the sea of pandemonium on the terraces when a goal was scored and wished I was down there.

That win for Man United was a rarity as they barely won at the Boleyn in the 70s/80s and a good few games in the 90s. Probably part of why Fergie respected us so much.
